ARGONAVIS AXIA movie release date in November 2022 revealed by new trailer, key visual

An anime movie inspired by the ARGONAVIS franchise titled ARGONAVIS the Movie: AXIA will be released on November 4, 2022. The plot of the movie centers on an online rumor that the 5-member band called GYROAXIA (which is active in Sapporo) is going to break up.

The rumor causes strife and confusion among the bandmates, especially in one vocalist in particular, Nayuta Asahi. This conflict causes Nayuta to remember how his father, Tsunekawa Iryu, abondoned him and he wonders why he cares about being a part of the band and whether or not he should continue to sing.

FROM ARGONAVIS is a boys’ band Japanese project by Bushiroad that features live stage performances and its anime counterpart. It is interesting to note that the voice actor who plays the character in the anime is a real live idol and a part of the band ARGONAVIS or GYROAXIA.

A new trailer has been released for the upcoming anime film:

In 2018-2021, FROM ARGONAVIS was originally titled Argonavis from BanG Dream! On April 10 to July 3, 2020, the anime series by Sanzigen aired on the Super Animeism Block. On January 14, 2021, Argonavis from BangG Dream! AAside, a rhythm mobile game by DeNa was released in Japan.

The game featured the main band ARGONAVIS and the story takes place after the anime. Although the server has been terminated for the game, a new smartphone game is in development, which will feature three new bands: Epsilon, Fujin Rizing!, and Fantome Iris, as well as the original bands ARGONAVIS and GRYOAXIA.

You can listen to the “real” band GRYOAXIA here:

On November 19, 2021 a compilation anime film titled Gekijoban Argonavis: Ryusei no Obligato premiered. In November 2021, the project changed its name from Argonavis from BangG Dream! To FROM ARGONAVIS to clarify that the project was no longer a part of BangG Dream. Argonavis Co. Ltd. was established with Daisuke Hyuga as its public relations manager to head the project.

Fans speculated if the girls from the BangG Dream! Universe would interact with the guys in the new project, but franchise creator, Takaaki Kidani, stated that there will be no interaction between the girls and the boys in FROM ARGONAVIS and that they’re in different worlds from one another. Since the BangG Dream! franchise was originally all-female there was some confusion when the ARGONAVIS project that had all-male characters was revealed to be an extension. This prompted ARGONAVIS to be turned into an independent project that was set in an alternate universe.

BangG Dream! was set in Shinjuku, Tokyo while ARGONAVIS FROM BANGG DREAM! is set in Hokadate, Hokkaido. The band ARGONAVIS is made up of 5 first-year university students. On July 29, 2018, they began their debut with their live show called “0th Live”. ARGONAVIS’ first original song titled Steady Goes! was distributed for free to those who attended their first live show. In September they held their second live show and on December 10, 2018, they held their third live show. All the shows were held at Shimokitazawa GARDEN. On May 17, 2019, there was another live show held at the Maihama Amphitheater in the Chiba Prefecture. On Feburary, 20, 2019 the band’s first live titled Goal Line was released.

You can watch the music video for Goal Line here:

On August 21, 2019, their second single titled Starting Over was released. The ARGONAVIS franchise also has a spin-off manga. Their second live show titled Voice Hoshizora no Shta no Yakusoku was held December 5, 2019, at Tokyo Dom City Hall.

Real life and the anime realm collide in the ARGONAVIS project

Will the girls from BangG Dream! meet the boys FROM ARGONAVIS?
