Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War Arc announcements at Anime Expo 2022

On June 13, 2022, Anime Expo revealed on their official website that they will be holding a panel for the Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War arc anime, which will release new information about the upcoming anime. Special messages about the Fall 2022 TV show will be played from Japan.

Bleach fans are excited to see what new exclusive content will also be unveiled. Voice actress Michelle Ruff, who played Rukia in the Bleach dub, Dan Woren, who played Byakuya Kuchiki, and Wally Wingert, who played Renji Abarai, will be joining the panel to talk about the upcoming anime arc.

In March 2020, Weekly Shonen Jump magazine and the Bleach 20th Anniversary Project and Tite Kubo New Project Presentation announced via livestream that the manga’s last story arc Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War would receive an anime project.

In November 2021, it was revealed that the anime project would be a TV series titled Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War. On December 18, 2021, during the Jump Festa ’22 Bleach panel event it was announced that the Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War anime would premiere as a TV anime in October 2022 on TV Tokyo and would cover the rest of the original manga all the way up to its epic conclusion. The panel also revealed the trailer and visual for the series.

Bleach is a Japanese original manga series written and illustrated by Tite Kubo. The anime series was based on the manga and produced by Studio Pierrot and directed by Noriyuki Abe. From October 2004 to March 2012, the anime series aired on TV Tokyo and lasted for 366 episodes. The anime featured original storylines and characters that were not found in the original manga.

In March 2006, Viz Media obtained foreign television and home video distribution rights to the Bleach anime, which was broadcast in the United States on Adult Swim from September 2006 to November 2014.

The story centers on a hothead teenager named Ichigo Kurosaki, who through a strange twist of fate ends up obtaining the powers of a Soul Reaper (a personification of death similar to the Grim Reaper) from a girl, named Rukia Kuchiki. With his newfound powers came the responsibility of defending humans from evil spirits called Hallows and guiding departed souls to the afterlife. Ichigo ends up having several adventures in his hometown fighting Hallows and then later in a place called Soul Society where he’s forced to battle other Soul Reapers.
