Among the variety of Dragon Ball characters, Pan is certainly one of the more intriguing ones. Pan is the granddaughter of Goku, on her paternal side, and the world champion, Mr. Satan, on her maternal side. And while her heritage is primarily Earthling, being the offspring of the Saiyan-Earthling hybrid Gohan and the Earthling Videl, she is also a quarter-Saiyan. She’s been stated to have inherited Gohan’s great potential, although the story has yet to explore all of this. In this article, we are going to tell you whether Pan can access Super Saiyan mode and if she can, how it can be done, based on what we know about her.
According to the data provided by the official Dragon Ball GT: Perfect File, she has the potential to turn Super Saiyan when the proper conditions are met, for example the arrival of the evilest of dangers (which has not been defined as of yet). This is the result of the fact that she has inherited Saiyan blood and possesses a high power level.
In the remainder of this article, we are going to discuss Pan and her powers in the Drago Ball manga and anime. You are going to find out whether she can turn Super Saiyan and if she can, what conditions have to be met for that to happen. We are also going to speculate on some other questions related to this main issue.
Pan is the daughter of Son Gohan and Videl. Her grandfathers are Mr. Satan and Son Goku. Her uncle is Son Goten. Pan enters a tournament where she easily defeated even Mo-Kekko, a powerful wrestler.
The further course of the tournament is unclear, but she seems to have won against Son Goten, which means that Oob would have lost and she would have faced either Vegeta or Trunks in the semifinals. How it actually was has never been shown. It is believed that Trunks is up against them, Trunks got embarrassed because Pan is still very young, so he let her win. Trunks acted like Pan was very strong, that’s why she won.
As a baby who can barely speak, Pan can already use his Ki and power up. After being kidnapped by the Pilaf Gang, an enraged Pan destroys their flying robot. Once destroyed, Pan manages to levitate through Earth’s upper atmosphere before eventually returning to the ground with all three gang members hanging from her leg.
While in Future Trunks’ custody, she single-handedly destroyed an entire living room, causing the former to have trouble handling her, though this is comic relief. Future Trunks acknowledged the fact that she was Gohan’s daughter after all. Pan also kicks Future Trunks in the stomach, causing him to feel pain. During the Peaceful World Saga, Pan (four) is already a skilled fighter, having trained with her grandfather, Goku, since childhood.
At the 28th World Martial Arts Tournament, she effortlessly defeated Wild Tiger, a huge, muscular man, with just two punches. In the anime, she also manages to defeat Goten in her base form. During the Baby saga, Pan was able to defeat Natt (who was, actually, part of Sigma Force when Goku said they were as big as the last enemy he had faced, i.e., Luud) of Sigma Force and is strong enough to knock down the powerful base general Rilldo – whose ki was actually bigger than Buu’s – in just two punches.
After seeing this, a shocked Trunks asks if Pan is stronger than him. However, on her second attempt at a now serious Rilldo, she had hardly alarmed the general, though again, she was hardly alarmed by his attack on her. However, before she and her grandfather were encased in metal by Meta-Rilldo’s metallic blast, Pan was able to dodge a blow from the transformed General, even knocking him down with a single kick.
She is shown to easily defeat Infant Baby alongside her grandfather and Trunks. It is impossible for Pan to escape 68.47 times gravity. During the Super 17 Saga, Pan is able to surprise and hold Android 20, with the android also expressing shock at Pan being so strong for his age. As for the Shadow Dragon Saga, Pan was, there, able to easily overpower Haze Shenron and deal enough damage to make Oceanus Shenron transform out of her Princess Oto form with a simple Kamehameha.
Like her mother, Pan’s fighting style involves waiting for his opponent to attack, then using his own power against them in a dodge or counterattack, playing with his momentum. Having inherited Saiyan blood and possessing a high level of power, Pan has the potential to transform into a Super Saiyan when the right conditions are met, such as the arrival of the worst of dangers.
Based on what Akira Toriyama said, his principal reason for never having any female Super Saiyans was that neither Pan nor Bulla had the incentive to transform. He actually never drew female Super Saiyans because he couldn’t figure out what they would look like. Daizenshuuuu 7 implies that she has the potential to become an ape or a Super Saiyan but never did.
As the Daizenshuu explains, Pan’s inability to transform was not due to the low percentage of Saiyan blood in her, as Goku Jr. was still able to perform the transformation despite being the rear- great-grandson of the already 1/4 Saiyan Pan, who was his Saiyan heir would be reduced to no more than 1/64, making him almost fully human, but that was just plain misinformation.
The Dragon Ball GT: Perfect File implies that Pan has the potential to transform and has become a kind of Super Saiyan never seen before, but has yet to be confirmed in the anime or manga, so it remains to be seen what her Super Saiyan form is capable of.
And this is all we know about Pan’s Super Saiyan form at this moment. We hope that Toriyama is going to reveal more information in the near future.
