A stunning new cosplay brings one of Hades‘ Fury Sisters to life in incredible detail.

Professional cosplayer Kamiko Zero posted an image of the costume on her Instagram. It features a game-accurate recreation of Megaera’s blue-and-gold outfit alongside a flawlessly styled wig, with an incredible game-accurate backdrop that makes her appear as if she’s really in Hades‘ Underworld. The cosplayer went the extra step and tinted her skin to match the character’s gray-silver skin tone.

Megaera isn’t the only video game character Kamiko Zero has brought to life with an incredible level of detail. She has also cosplayed as KDA Evelynn from League of Legends and Kujou Sara from Genshin Impact. Moreover, her Instagram account features many costumes of popular characters from DC Comics, including Huntress, Starfire and Batgirl.

Supergiant Games’ Hades is a roguelike action dungeon crawler video game released for PC, macOS and Nintendo Switch in September 2020. Ports subsequently launched for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. The narrative follows Zagreus, the son of Hades, as he endeavors to escape the Underworld and make it to Mount Olympus. The game employs random generation to challenge the player with new enemies with each escape attempt and features a hack and slash combat system.

Gamers positively embraced Hades; during its two-year early access release, the title sold roughly 700,000 copies and within three days of its full release, another 300,000 units were purchased. Moreover, critics heavily praised the game, and it went on to win several prominent awards in the industry, including Best Indie and Best Action at the 2020 Game Awards and Best Game at the BAFTAs in 2021. Hades also made history, becoming the first video game to win a Hugo Award.

Megaera is the first boss Zagreus encounters, and he must defeat her to progress to Asphodel, one of the major destinations on his journey out of the Underworld. After she is defeated, the player can interact with her in a more friendly manner and even potentially romance her. The Fury Sister isn’t the only character from Greek mythology that Zagreus can meet during his escape. Notably, he can help reunite lost lovers Achilles and Patroclus by partaking in one of Hades‘ most convoluted but important side quests. Similarly, Zagreus can facilitate the reunion of the bard Orpheus and his muse, Eurydice, through another side quest. Other characters from Greek mythology featured in the game include Dionysus, Charon, Nyx, Thanatos, Aphrodite, Hermes, Theseus and Sisyphus.
