How and When to Watch Stranger Things Vol. 2

The second volume of Stranger Things Season 4 will answer a lot of fans’ questions, but when and where will Season 4, Volume 2 be streaming?

The following contains spoilers for Stranger Things Season 4, Volume 1, now streaming on Netflix.

Ever since Stranger Things Season 4, Volume 1 ended on multiple cliffhangers and a shocking plot twist, fans have naturally been eager for the season’s second installment to be released. A full-length trailer for Volume 2 has now been released — and it seems to be hinting at the death of a major character. As this potentially huge death looms on the horizon, every one of Hawkins’ heroes seems not to be safe.

Stranger Things‘ fourth season has been broken up into several plotlines, spanning a variety of locations. The Hawkins crew has been dealing with Vecna, a terrifying new villain with a haunting backstory. The California group has been looking for Eleven after she was taken away to Dr. Brenner’s secret headquarters. Joyce and Murray finally found Hopper in a Russian prison, but now the three of them will have to escape. With many plot points left to be resolved, how and when can viewers watch Volume 2?

Stranger Things Season 4, Volume 2 will be available to stream on Netflix on July 1, 2022 at 12 a.m. PST and 3 a.m. EST. The season’s second installment will continue the storylines of the previous volume, with Vecna as the show’s central villain. The new trailer suggests that the final two episodes will be both intense and tragic as the characters fight to save Hawkins from Vecna. As Robin says to Steve in a short clip from the next installment, “It might now work out for us this time.”

Volume 2 seems to pair up the show’s characters into the same groups as the season’s first installment. As Volume 1 leaves off, Nancy has been possessed by Vecna, and she and Steve are still stuck in the Upside Down. Max is still at risk of being killed by Vecna at any moment, and she has to constantly listen to a Kate Bush song on loop to protect herself. Eddie is still being blamed for Vecna’s murders. Lucas, Dustin and Erica are just trying to help their friends and save Hawkins. There’s a lot going on in town, so it’s more than likely that at least one of these characters won’t make it to Season 5.

Fans will be able to binge-watch Stranger Things Season 4, Volume 2 as soon as the episodes are released on July 1. The volume is only two episodes long. Episode 8, entitled “Chapter Eight: Papa,” will be an hour and 25 minutes long. Episode 9, called “Chapter Nine: The Piggyback,” is two hours and 30 minutes long, making it longer than most non-superhero movies. The trailer calls these last two episodes “epic,” and they may finally bring all the characters back to Hawkins for an ultimate battle against Vecna.

Based on the new trailer, Eleven might be the one to get everyone back to Hawkins — since she’s finally regained her powers. Mike is determined to find her and she’s determined to help them. Additionally, Will’s sexuality still needs to be addressed, and it seems that Volume 2 will answer that question. Jonathan and Nancy’s relationship is failing while Hopper, Joyce and Murray are still in Russia. That’s a lot to pack into only two episodes, no matter how long, but definitely worthy of a binge-watch.

Stranger Things Season 4, Volume 2 will be available to stream July 1 on Netflix.
