A new DanMachi Season 4 trailer 2 tease the storyline:
From the trailer alone, it is easy to deduce the story continues with Bell trying to protect the Xenos monster Weine and is going to have to fight against his friend and the female warrior he most admires – Ais Wallenstein.
Sho Watanabe, who has worked on many hit songs, decided to team up with new vocal talents: Sana and Tatsuya Kitani to form the group called Sajou no Hana. The group will perform Danmachi’s new opening theme song that will be titled Sky Lantern. Their single will be available for purchase on August 24, 2022.
In January 2014, a DanMachi spin-off novel series titled Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? One the Side: Sword Oratoria began and received a manga adaptation. In March 2017, a second DanMachi spin-off light novel series titled Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?: Familia Chronicle began, received a manga adaptation, and was illustrated by the artist known as Nilitsu. From April 14 to June 30, 2017 Sword Oratoria received a TV anime adaptation.
The story takes place in the mythical city of Orario – a place where the gods live among men as they seek excitement and limit their divine powers in order to experience the hardships that the mortals have to go through in the mortal realm. The gods protect themselves by having a retinue of powerful adventurers and support personnel known as “Familia” that are chosen from the citizens of Orario.
Organizations formed by Familia send expeditions of adventurers to explore the labyrinth beneath Orario that is known as the Dungeon in order to harvest the crystal shards that monsters leave after they are killed. The shards are highly valuable and can be used to craft magic items as well as being exchanged for the world’s currency.
The world of DanMachi was obviously inspired by video games and RPGs since the level and power of an adventurer are decided by their “level” and their abilities also raise in rank. By defeating powerful monsters, our hero, Bell, is able to increase his level and ability scores, and unlock special powers that are known as “skills”.
The hero of DanMachi, Bell Cranel, is a 14-year-old rookie adventurer and the only member of the Hestia Familia that is run by the Goddess Hestia. When Ais Wallenstein, a famous, powerful and beautiful swordswoman from the Loki Familia, saves his life from a powerful monster Bell vows to become as strong as her. At first, Bell has a crush on Ais, but as he grows closer to his patron Goddess Hestia he becomes torn between the two women. Other young women, deities and mortals alike, also try to gain Bell’s affections, but he seems pretty oblivious to their advances for the most part.
