Kubo Won’t Let Me Be Invisible anime production confirmed with new poster key visual

On May 13, 2022 it was announced that Nene Yukimori’s Kubo Won’t Let Me Be Invisible (Kubo-san wa Mobu o Yurusanai) manga will be getting an anime adaptation.

This was a rumor until the official announcement on their new website, and their first poster visual has been released, which features Junta Shiraishi and his classmate Kubo.

Pine Jam (known for Kagekishoujyo!) will be the animation studio behind the project, but the release date is still unknown. The production team includes director Kazuomi Koga, who is known for directing Kanojyo, Orozamashimasu and other works.

Voice actress Kana Hanazawa will play Nagisaki Kubo, and voice actor Kengo Kawanishi plays Junta Shiraishi.

I enjoyed playing Nagisaki Kubo in the ASMR voice dramas, so I was very happy to hear that the manga would be receiving an anime adaptation. I’m looking forward to saying the teasing lines that will make Junta Shiraishi squirm and get nervous. I plan to re-read the manga so I get her teasing down perfectly. When I first read the manga, I thought that it would be a cute slice of life anime. As soon as I was notified that I got the part to play Nagisaki Kubo I was excited to find out who would be playing the other roles. The anime is coming soon but I hope people will read the manga first.

Kana Hanazawa is not only a voice actress but also a singer. Her debut single Hoshizora Destination was released on April 25, 2012, under Sony Entertainment. Kana is known for her other voice acting roles: Anri Sonohara in Durarara!!, Akane Tsunemori in Psycho-Pass, Rize Kamishiro in Tokyo Ghoul, and Mitsuri Kanroji in Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba.

The story centers around the fact that high school student Junta Shiraishi is so quiet and ordinary that his classmates and teachers fail to notice him to the point that it’s almost as if he were a mob character from a video game, in other words invisible.

As fate would have it, the girl who sits next to him in class is not only very beautiful but the one person who seems to notice him. Kubo decides to tease Junta by daring him to do things that will make him stand out and then declares that she is his “heroine”. If Nagisa Kubo is the heroine of this story, Junta is still just a “mob” though. But will opposites attract?

The Kubo Won’t Let Me Be Invisible manga was serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump Magazine since October 2019. As of November 2021, its chapters have been gathered into seven tankobon volumes.
