Marvel’s Avengers Mighty Thor Actor Celebrates Casting With Her Own Mjolnir

The Mighty Thor is coming to Marvel’s Avengers, and her voice actor, Zehra Fazal, is celebrating the occasion with a minuscule Mjolnir.

The Mighty Thor (Jane Foster to her friends) is coming to Marvel’s Avengers soon, and voice actor Zehra Fazal (known for her work on Apex Legends) is celebrating the opportunity to bring the character to life with her very own, very small Mjolnir.

Taking to Twitter early on June 22, Fazal wrote “I’M THE GODDESS OF THUNDER!!!” accompanied by a photo with a teeny-tiny version of Thor’s iconic hammer. Fazal will be bringing Jane Foster to Marvel’s Avengers later in June, where she’ll be joining that other Thor. With two Mjolnirs floating around in Marvel’s Avengers, it only seems fair that a third should make its way into Fazal’s hands.

Jane Foster was announced as the next playable hero in Marvel’s Avengers back in April 2022. Shortly after that announcement, the game hit a bit of a rough patch, and most new content for Marvel’s Avengers was reportedly either scrapped or dramatically altered. The Mighty Thor appears to have made it out the other side of that situation basically unscathed. An animated trailer titled The Mighty Thor: Out of Time recently teased major elements of Foster’s story in the game and gave audiences their first piece of Fazal’s voice work as the character.

Marvel’s Avengers has seen a variety of smaller content updates between the announcement and release of its newest playable character. A handful of new skins have been released for the online RPG, including one which gave Black Widow an old-school makeover. Another brought the Incredible Hulk’s Worldbreaker look to the game, while Iron Man and the other Thor got to try on their MCU threads.

Jane Foster’s turn as The Mighty Thor began way back in 2014’s Original Sin comic event, but outside of comics she hadn’t had many opportunities to show off her new thunder powers until fairly recently. Now, The Mighty Thor is having a bit of a moment — in addition to her new role as a playable character in Marvel’s Avengers, Foster’s Thor will appear in the upcoming Thor: Love and Thunder, where she’ll be played by Natalie Portman. Her history in comics hasn’t been forgotten either, as Marvel Comics recently released the first issue in the new series Jane Foster & The Mighty Thor.

Marvel’s Avengers is available on PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Microsoft Windows and Google Stadia. The Mighty Thor will become playable in-game on June 28.
