Real Girl Season 3: Release Date, Trailer, Cast, Plot & More

Real Girl, known in Japan as 3D Kanojo, is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Mao Nanami. The series was published in Kodansha’s Dessert between July 2011 and May 2016, with the series later compiled into twelve tankōbon volumes published between December 2011 and August 2016. An anime television series adaptation directed by Takashi Naoya and animated by Hoods Entertainment premiered from April 4, 2018 on the AnichU programming block. A second season began to air on January 9, 2019 until March 27 of the same year, having a total of 12 episodes at the end. In this article, we are going to tell you whether you can expect to see a third season of Real Girl or not.

There will be no season three of Real Girl, simply because the manga is over and the two anime seasons that have aired have adapted the whole manga and its storyline. There aren’t even any additional side stories that could be adapted into an OVA or an ONA, let alone a whole season. Real Girl is over and there won’t be any season three.

The rest of this article is going to bring you all the known and unknown information related to the potential third season of Real Girl. You’re going to find out about its potential release date, whether there is a trailer, what the story could be about, and much more about this interesting anime series.

An anime television series adaptation titled 3D Kanojo: Real Girl was announced in November 2017. The series is directed by Takashi Naoya and written by Deko Akao, with animation by Hoods Entertainment and character designs by Satomi Kurita. It premiered from April 4, 2018 on NTV’s AnichU programming block. The series had 12 episodes. A second season, which aired from January 8, 2019 to March 26, 2019, also had 12 episodes.

The opening theme titled “Daiji na Koto” by Quruli and the ending theme titled “HiDE the BLUE” by BiSH. The opening theme of the second season is “Futari nara” by BiSH and the ending theme of the season is “Hagan” by Fujifabric.

Real Girl‘s two season adapted the whole manga. The manga ran from July 23, 2011 to May 24, 2016 and was collected in a total of 12 volumes, all of which have been adapted in the anime series. This is why a third season of Real Girl is practically impossible, since there is no material to adapt. A third season could be possible only if the author decides to continue the manga, which is not likely, or to write an original story, which doesn’t seem likely either.

There is no trailer for a third season of Real Girl and, seeing how there probably won’t be a third season anyhow, we’re not going to see a trailer at all. Since there is nothing to announce, a trailer is completely unnecessary.

We assume that the protagonists would return for a third season, if there ever were one. There are a lot of characters that could make a return in a possible continuation of Real Girl and they would probably return once more, along with a plethora of new characters. But, seeing how the world of Real World won’t be getting any additional stories, there is nothing to discuss here, really. The two main characters of the series, who would definitely make a return, are:

The plot of a potential third season of Real Girl is unknown since it would have to adapt a new story written by the author, and there is no such story. The twoseasons adapted the manga and finished with it, meaning that there are no more manga stories to adapt. Still, what we are going to bring you is a brief overview of the series’ plot, so that you know what you can expect.

Hikaru Tsutsui is a high school student, often shunned and mocked by his peers for his otaku nature. One day, after arriving late for school, he is forced to clean the pool together with Iroha Higurashi, a beautiful girl but with a very bad reputation. Later she Iroha asks him to go out together and Hikaru accepts, but the two can only be together for six months, at the end of which the girl will have to change schools due to the work of her father.
