Saitama vs. Boros: Who Would Win?

Were it not for the protagonist, Saitama, One-Punch Man would probably not be as popular. On the other hand, the alien Boros is one of the franchise’s greatest villains. But who is stronger between the two? Who would win in a fight between Saitama and Boros?

Saitama is certainly more powerful than Boros. In fact, the two of them have already fought and Saitama was ultimately able to defeat Boros. Boros, though, was one of Saitama’s toughest opponents, as he was able to survive his infamous punch and even send Saitama flying to the Moon, which was an amazing feat for an opponent of Saitama’s.

The rest of this article will further elaborate on the above-given answer, as we are going to compare Saitama and Boros in more detail. Through several categories, you are going to see who the stronger of the two is and why our answer is like it is, i.e., why Saitama was ultimately able to defeat Boros in a direct fight.

Saitama possesses disproportionately large physical strength and is thus able to effortlessly defeat powerful monsters and villains with a single blow. One punch from Saitama is so powerful that many enemies simply explode or disintegrate when hit. He is also shown to be able to effortlessly destroy large structures.

An example of this offensive power is when Saitama launches himself from the top of a building to head to hit the Giant Meteor. A “normal” punch from him has proven fatal to a being as durable as Boros. Saitama has also shown that he is capable of controlling the force of his attacks, but still tends to overdo it on occasion, causing massive devastation.

Boros displays extreme strength during his fight with Saitama. He was able to punch Saitama through several pillars with a single punch – the alien’s various punches easily damaged the place. Boros’ strike was so powerful that the shockwave from one of his strikes dispersed the huge cloud of smoke created by his energy blast.

There is absolutely no doubt that Boros is a formidable opponent and one of the strongest that Saitama has faced, but he still did not manage to overpower the titular hero, which is why this point goes to Saitama.

Points: Saitama 1, Boros 0

Saitama was able to complete a 1,500 meter race in an instant three times in a row during his hero trials. He has been shown capable of maintaining a much faster speed than Sonic, who is capable of moving at hypersonic speeds. Even Genos’s computerized location systems have a hard time tracking him due to how fast he moves.

Saitama has also shown the ability to run down a building to save a piece of salmon he had for lunch and jump back up to said building without anyone noticing that he had done so.

He was able to easily dodge some of Boros’, Gouketsu’s and Orochi’s extremely fast attacks, and even managed to dodge some of Garou Monster’s attacks, as well as being able to face the powerful Golden Sperm. Ironically, despite his incredible reflexes and speeds he still has trouble swatting a simple mosquito or picking up an object like a helmet or hammer when playing rock-paper-scissors.

Boros possessed incredible speed and agility. He used the internal energy of his body, which made him incredibly fast. Even inside the ship, Boros and Saitama were so fast that normal human eyes couldn’t follow their fight.

Despite his incredible speed, Boros was no match for Saitama in this aspect. The titular hero of the series was simply too fast for Boros, which is why we give him the point in this category as well.

Points: Saitama 2, Boros 0

This is a category in which Saitama stands no chance – namely, he is incapable of using any energy-projection skills. Saitama’s powers are simply of a different nature and he does not have any attacks that would fit in this category.

Boros gathers great energy and channels it through his body in a great physical attack. One of Boros’s trump cards is the Meteoritic Burst, when his appearance and abilities radically change, with this phase, he is much faster and massively stronger, being able to deal more powerful energy punches as well as sending Saitama to the moon with a kick.

In his final form and concentrating all his vital energy, Boros is able to create an explosive energy beam with the ability to destroy the earth’s crust or even the entire planet, according to his own words.

Since Saitama is completely useless in this category, Boros wins his first point here.

Points: Saitama 2, Boros 1

Due to his incredible superhuman physical condition, Saitama is an extraordinarily powerful and dangerous fighter in close combat. After three years of intense training and fighting countless criminals, Kaijin, and evil organizations, he not only gained unparalleled power, but also developed a wealth of combat skills through combat experience.

Due to his boredom, he often uses poor attacks that lack finesse or flair; However, once serious, he becomes a very competent and cunning fighter.

Saitama uses basic fighter moves and street fighting techniques to grab and knock down his enemies, having excellent battlefield awareness, and is able to read the moves of highly skilled warriors such as Boros and Garou, the former being a universal emperor, with centuries of experience and the latest a martial arts prodigy.

Boros had many years of combat experience. He tried to end the fight quickly without hesitation or holding back his strength. Boros had several moves that he used when he wanted to quickly end a fight or completely annihilate an opponent, but not Saitama.

Since we know that Saitama defeated Boros in their fight, there is no doubt that the former’s fighting skills are, simply, superior to Boros’. In that aspect, Saitama wins the final point of this comparison.

Points: Saitama 3, Boros 1

We could, actually, give you a proper analysis of the things we have written above but that wouldn’t really do the trick when compared with what we have decided to go with. Namely, as Saitama and Boros have, indeed, fought in the manga and the anime, we thought that it would be better for us to just recap this battle and show you how Saitama managed to win.

Boros begins the fight against Saitama by dealing him with an intense series of blows that begin to cause destruction inside the ship, at one point Saitama manages to rip off Boros’s arm with a punch but he continues to attack him despite the wound. The fight between Boros and Saitama intensifies more and more, with the former’s attacks and blows so strong that they destroy and vaporize large parts of the room.

Both, in a quick exchange of blows, go through the ceiling and out of the ship, while Boros praises Saitama’s enormous durability, something that none of his previous opponents had, to immediately shoot Saitama with a huge beam of energy that generates a huge explosion across the deck of the ship, then quickly position yourself behind the hero and punch him in the face causing a large pressure wave that dissipates the smoke and fire around him.

They pause for a moment where Boros comments that Saitama is a worthy opponent, but that victory is assured for him, and starts talking about his ability to regenerate from him using his energy, quickly regaining his severed arm. Boros continues explaining his survival qualities but is interrupted by Saitama tired of hearing words and asks if it was all he had.

That makes Boros angry who uses his Meteoric Burst, increasing his abilities in a huge way to continue attacking the hero, vaporizing huge parts of his ship, until he is kicked to the moon. Boros begins to feel the exhaustion of his latest transformation as Saitama arrives from the moon with an impact that rocks the ship to one side.

Surprised, excited and frustrated, Boros lunges at him but Saitama throws him away with a punch, Boros praises the hero but does not finish because he completely destroys his body with Consecutive Normal Hits, a now furious Boros regenerates and decides to use his maximum power to finish off Saitama; he unleashes the Collapsing Star Roaring Cannon, about to hit the hero but the hero uses his Serious Punch, disarming Boros’s attack, destroying his ship’s energy sphere and defeating him for good.

Boros lies defeated in the ship after being hit by Serious Punch. He claims that Saitama wasn’t even using his full power and that the prophecy he had been told was nothing but a lie. Shortly after, Boros dies and the spaceship begins to fall on the ruins of A-City, where the other S-Class heroes are.
