A new trailer PV was released for Tatami Time Machine Blues, the anime sequel to The Tatami Galaxy. The video previews the theme song titled Demachiyanagi Parallel Universe, performed by the group Asian Kung-Fu Generation.
The opening theme song for The Tatami Galaxy, Maigoinu to Ame no Beat, was also performed by the Asian Kung-Fu Generation.

Shingo Natsume, best known for directing One Punch Man, is directing the series at Science SARU. Makoto Ueda and Yusuke Nakamura are returning as the scriptwriter and the character designer from The Tatami Galaxy, respectively.
Tatami Time Machine Blues anime is based on Tomihiko Morimi’s novel of the same name, which is a sequel to The Tatami Galaxy. It combines the characters of The Tatami Galaxy and the plot of the film Summer Time Machine Blues.
The anime will be screened in theaters for 3 weeks from September 30th in Japan. It will also be streamed globally on Disney+ with all six episodes, including an exclusive story not seen in the theatrical version. The date is still unannounced.

The story of Tatami Time Machine Blues is set during a sweltering midsummer day when Ozu, the protagonist’s “terrible friend,” accidentally drowns the only remote control for the air conditioning unit in their apartment. While they discuss their predicament with Akashi, the protagonist’s raven-haired love interest, a sloppily-dressed time-traveling student arrives from 25 years in the future, prompting the protagonist to borrow his time machine in an effort to snatch the remote control from the past before it breaks
