The Quintessential Quintuplets movie trailer PV teases the ending of the manga’s story

TBS Animation has released the third and final trailer for Eiga Gotōbun no Hanayome or The Quintessential Quintuplets The Movie which is set to premiere on May 20th in Japan. The new trailer for the movie was released on May 5th, 2020 to celebrate the birthday of the Nakano quintuplets.

The movie is a continuation of the anime series by the same name, and it would serve as the finale for the series. It is directed by Masato Jinbo at Bilbury Animation Studios. He is also directing The Rising of the Shield Hero Season 2.

The cast for the movie remains the same as the second season of the anime series with:

The Quintessential Quintuplets anime premiered in January 2019, with the first season airing for 12 episodes. The season was directed by Satoshi Kuwabara at Tezuka Productions.

The second season was scheduled to premiere in October 2020 but was delayed due to Covid 19. It finally aired in January 2021 for another 12 episodes. The season was directed by Kaori at Bilbury Animation Studios.

The Quintessential Quintuplets is written and illustrated by Negi Haruba and published in Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine. The manga concluded in February 2020 in Japan with 122 chapters compiled into 14 tankōbon volumes.

Recently a new bonus chapter was announced as part of a visitor promotion for the upcoming film. The Quintessential Quintuplets Chapter 123 will be officially labeled as Chapter 122+1 and be titled: “The Quintuplet can’t Divide the Secret into Five Equal Parts. Kodansha USA, the English publisher of the series describes the story as:

Five girls who want to do anything but study, and their tutor: a high school boy who’s got book smarts and not much else. Futaro Uesugi took the tutoring gig because he was desperate for cash, but when his students—the five beautiful daughters of a wealthy businessman—find five times the excuses to slack off, what can he do?! At this rate, the sisters won’t graduate, so if he wants to get paid, Futaro must think of a plan to suit each of them … Which feels hopeless when five out of five of them think he’s a loser!
