One Piece is one of the greatest anime series ever, according to – well – everyone. With more than two decades on the market, One Piece marked a whole era of anime history and is still going strong, although it is slowly approaching its end, as Oda confirmed; don’t worry, ”slowly” here means that there are still several years of One Piece to enjoy before it ends. Knowing that the anime series is very popular, we are going to tell you where you can watch the dubbed version of One Piece.
Dubbed episodes of One Piece can be found on Funimation, Crunchyroll, Amazon Prime, Hulu, and Netflix. The best among these are, of course, Funimation and Crunchyroll, while the other platforms do have the same high-quality dubs, but they have a very limited number of available episodes, different for each platform.
In the rest of this article, we are going to tell you which streaming services offer dubbed episodes of One Piece for streaming in the West. We’re going to tell you about all the major streaming services as well, so you’ll have all the information you need if you want to stream this historically important anime work.
One Piece is one of the longest anime series in history. It premiered on October 20, 1999 in Japan and has been on the air for more than 20 years. It is currently in its 20th season, which is also the longest one in terms of the number of episodes. Currently, the anime has 1,014 episodes, but that number is set to increase in the future.
One Piece in dubbed format is available on Netflix, but in a very limited capacity. Netflix has only a small number of dubbed One Piece episodes, so if you want to see the whole series, you’ll have to find an alternative source after episode 150 (rough estimate), since Netflix simply doesn’t have these episodes on its platform.
It might be a little disappointing that a leading network like Netflix doesn’t have all the dubbed episodes of One Piece available on its service. We assume that it has to do something with the licensing and distribution rights, but we cannot be sure that that is the actual reason.
As far as the future of the series is concerned, seeing how Netflix is working on expanding its anime roster, it is somewhat possible that more dubbed episodes of One Piece will be made available, but that is something that we do not know at this moment, which means that we’ll just have to wait for a confirmation.
Netflix is doing a great job in providing its subscribers with great streaming content, but it does have some restrictions. So if you live in a country with geographic restrictions, you may not be able to watch One Piece on Netflix even with a full subscription. And yes, in case you were wondering, you can check directly on Netflix to see if your country is geographically restricted.
If you live in a geographically restricted country, you will not be able to watch One Piece unless you change your location, but the good thing is that the dubbed episodes are not region-locked; the bad news is that there are not many of them to watch in the first place.
Interestingly enough, One Piece dubbed episodes are available on Crunchyroll and it is the most up-to-date source for dubbed One Piece online. Crunchyroll has the best anime library on the Internet, but it focuses on subbed versions of its shows, so it is a pleasant surprise to know that you can also watch dubbed episodes of One Piece on the platform and that they are updated regularly (they are a bit behind the subbed versions, though, but that is normal).
If you also want to watch some great anime titles, Crunchyroll is your best option if you ask us, so it’s great that, in addition to the dubbed episodes of One Piece, you can also watch some other great shows.
Disney+ does not offer any One Piece content at all, which is, as you probably know by now, not surprising as Disney+ is generally very conservative when original content created by other studios is concerned, and anime is not just that, it is also direct competition for Disney, who takes pride in its original animated content. On top of that, this kind of content is definitely not compatible with Disney.
However, if you do not mind Western animation and some other anime series (although the offer is quite limited), Disney+ offers quite a few of them.
One of these animated series is The Simpsons, which is still very popular with 33 seasons as of April 2022. Some other similar shows, both animated and live-action, that might attract your attention include Gravity Falls, The Mighty Ducks, and the Star Wars series, including the very popular The Mandalorian.
One Piece is fully available on Funimation in dubbed format for all fans to enjoy. This is what Funimation usually does, so it’s expected that the series is fully available on the platform in dubbed format. Note that ”fully” here means – as they are dubbed by the studio, not as they are released in their original format, since dubbed episodes always arrive at a later date.
One major issue with Funimation is that it is not available around the world, so you’re only able to access it from a limited number of countries around the world, which can be a nuisance.
One Piece can be streamed via Hulu, in both dubbed and subbed format, alongside some other great anime series, but the number of episodes is severely limited and is not even near the full number of episodes. Hulu is not one of the major players in the world of streaming, but nonetheless, it offers great content for its subscribers.
Hulu is a streaming service that primarily offers live-action shows and movies, but there is also a lot of anime, and One Piece is among the anime series offered on the service. The main issue is that Hulu is not available around the world so there are certain restrictions if you don’t live in the United States
A downside, though, is that Hulu does not have all of the episodes in dubbed format, which is certainly going to limit your options. So, if you’re a Hulu subscriber, you’ll be able to watch the One Piece anime series in a limited capacity, but you have to know that Hulu is not available around the world, which is a downside.
One Piece cannot be streamed on HBO Max either. Namely, the streaming service simply doesn’t have the shows among its titles, so if you’re a subscriber and have been looking to see the show, we don’t have any good news for you.
But, if you actually do have a free trial or an ongoing subscription to HBO Max, you can also watch other great anime shows, some of which are true classics that need to be watched regardless of whether you’re a fan or not.
Luckily, HBO Max has a truly great anime library so fans will definitely find something for themselves if they want to explore other shows aside from One Piece. Some other great anime on HBO Max include Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, Death Note, Jujutsu Kaisen, and Re:ZERO.
Dubbed episodes of One Piece are available for streaming on Amazon Prime in dubbed format but in a limited capacity. This is relatively strange as Amazon Prime has a solid slate of anime on its service, but it seems that One Piece‘s dubbed episodes aren’t fully available. This, sadly, also includes Amazon’s non-Prime pay-per-view library, which means that you cannot rent or buy the individual One Piece dubbed episodes that are missing.
Now, as we have said above, what surprised us the most is the fact that Amazon doesn’t offer all of the anime episodes for purchase, as it does with a lot of other shows via its pay-per-view model (for example, Black Clover). Such series cannot be streamed, but you can buy each episode individually and then own them, so you can watch them anytime you want.
One advantage of the rent or buy option on Amazon is the lack of restriction, either in time or location. Anywhere in the world, you can buy any available season or episode of a show, which is a good thing since some streaming services don’t offer their full slate for all countries. Once rented, you have only a limited amount of time to watch each episode for the same price, whereas with a purchased copy, you have unlimited time.
Be that as it may, this applies to dubbed One Piece episodes in a limited form, as the number of episodes available on Amazon is limited.
